Maternity DNA Testing
Maternity DNA testing determines whether the woman tested is the biological mother of the child tested. It works like a DNA paternity test, except this analysis compares a child’s DNA profile with the mother’s.
Grandparent DNA Testing
If the alleged father isn’t available for paternity testing (deceased or unwilling), one or more of his parents can participate instead. It is advised but not required that the child’s mother add her DNA to the test as well since it helps in analysis and can strengthen results.
Sibling DNA Testing
There are many reasons for doing a DNA siblingship test. These include: Wanting knowledge of whether you and your sibling share the same father, Wanting knowledge of whether your children share the same father and confirming a possible relationship discovered through ancestry testing
Avuncular DNA Testing
This avuncular DNA test is a good option when the father is not available for DNA testing, and the only relative available is a single sibling (brother or sister) of the father. It is advised but not required that the child’s mother add her DNA to the test as well. |
